Tips & Tricks
My Kid Zone group has really been loving the books in storytime so I have been tailoring down the activities. We got through every book on the list except for Even Monster’s Need Haircuts. Their hands down favorite was The Great Monster Hunt–it is a really fun read-aloud so get ready to make funny sound effects. Going on a Monster Hunt is exactly like Going on a Bear Hunt but you find a monster at the end. You can change the cave in the end into a spooky house or a swamp or where ever you think a monster is likely to hide. For the Monster Collage I just poured a bunch of partially used bits on the table and the kids spent a good bit of time making their monster. The picture is the one I made, which I’m not ashamed to admit was one of the more boring monsters of the day!
